This was a new build project on behalf of Carreg Construction. The building was converted from an old Granary into a 2 bedroom property. The client requested something traditional looking and easy to maintain. As there was a system of underfloor heating installed, The Karndean, Royal oak range seemed an obvious choice.
When we arrived the flooring was a newly installed sand & cement screed floor with a structural damp proof membrane. As the substrate floor was below 75% Relative Humidity, we filled all joints with Feather Finish and primed the screed ready for a 3mm layer of latex smoothing.
Karndean luxury vinyl tiles were then laid across the whole ground floor including kitchen, lounge, bedroom and stairwell.
Pryd O Fwyd is a newly refurbished restaurant in Ferryside, Carmarthenshire. The clients requested a feature floor that would subtly zone both the restaurant and bar areas.
We decided that a classic combination of both straight laid wood and ceramic tile would achieve the clients brief. The Harvey Maria Designer Collection fitted perfectly.
There was a existing sand/cement screed with no structural damp proof membrane. As the relative Humidity readings were above 75%, a moisture control level was required. A layer of DPM 1C was laid followed by a 3mm layer of latex smoothing. We proceeded to fit the new flooring over the next 4 days.
